The Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in Victoria, undaunted by the coronavirus pandemic, will hold its 34th annual HACCI Awards on Thursday, November 19 as an event which will be live-streamed around the world.

The HACCI was formed in the state of Victoria in 1985 to promote and strengthen the economic and cultural ties between Australia and Greece.

Hosted by favorite emcee Mary Coustas — who will be assuming larger-than-life alter ego, Effie Stephanides — as MC for the second time in a row, the event will be held at the Hellenic Museum, one of Melbourne’s most elegant and iconic buildings.

The digital ceremony will stream live into your screen of choice, bringing the Greek Australian “night of nights” into everyone’s home, are of charge.

Who will be the winners of the 34th HACCI awards? Who is the 2020 young achiever? Who will get the coveted lifetime achievement award? Will Gadjo Dilo perform under the Acropolis?

Is Effie going for the HACCI chair? Will she respond to Fivos Delivorias’ lovestruck serenade? And exactly what does Greek Jazz sound like?

Join the Livestream on Thursday November 19 to find out the answers to these pressing questions!

For 34 years, the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has presented its awards to the best and brightest in Australia’s Greek community.

The annual ceremony, which is one of the high points in the Greek-Australian social calendar, is an opportunity to celebrate excellence, to acknowledge contributions, to applaud innovation and business acumen. It also emphasizes the significance of entrepreneurship as an integral factor and a binding element of our community.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the HACCI’s annual gala ball cannot take place, of course — but in the true spirit of innovation, the organization was quick to adapt and the awards will take place as a glorious digital ceremony connecting Australia with Greece and the world — and everyone is invited to attend.

As everyone who has ever attended the annual HACCI Awards ceremony knows, the night has always included top-class entertainment — and this year is no different.

Joining us in celebration this year, Gadjo Dilo, one of Athens’ most uplifting bands, will present their signature gypsy-swing take on beloved Greek songs, from the rooftop of Gazarte, with the Athenian skyline behind them.

Fivos Delivorias, one of the most significant singer-songwriters of his generation, will send a very special musical message to the Greek community, the Chamber, and one specific person among the assembled group.

Back in Melbourne, the Chris Frangou trio will present classic Greek melodies, as played through a jazz prism.

The Community Award will be presented by Pronia – acknowledging those who show dedication to the community and use their skills, passion and compassion to make a difference.

The Chris Saristavros Young Achiever Award honors future leaders and the young role models who will shape the future of our community

The Spiro Stamoulis Lifetime Achievement Award honors those who have made a mark in our community, building a remarkable body of work and an enduring legacy.

And for the very first time this year, the HACCIs will present a new award — The Innovation Award, presented by Directed, will acknowledge the one individual who has a unique vision in their field of industry and found a way to put it into effect, carving new pathways.

The best and brightest are going to be there — and so should you! Join us the 34th HACCI Awards digital ceremony, streaming on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 7:30 pm on Facebook Live on the following pages:@hacciau @wearejustgold @3XYRadioHellas
