New Head of Curation at the Helm of Melbourne’s Hellenic Museum

The Hellenic Museum in Melbourne, an integral institution in the preservation of Greek history and culture in the center of Australia’s Greek diaspora community, announced that Sarah Craig has been appointed Head of Curation and CEO at the museum.

The Hellenic Museum began highlighting the best of Greek culture and art, from antiquity to the current day, in 2007. In its 13 years of operation, the museum has put on fascinating exhibitions about Greece and Greek Culture.

Craig started at the Hellenic Museum in 2014. A year after her start at the institution, she was named Curator. Her passion for art, as well as her boundless creativity, impressed museum staff as well as community leaders.

As Curator, Craig has been instrumental in forming the Hellenic Museum’s partnership with the Benaki Museum in Athens, and has commissioned many new, exciting works for the museum.

Craig will lead craft and implement a new vision for the museum inspired by the societal changes brought about by Covid-19. The plan will help the museum evolve upon reopening and in the future.
