Greek-Australian Kayla Itsines Ranks as Australia’s Wealthiest Female Under 40

Greek-Australian Kayla Itsines, a personal trainer and fitness guru whose family originates from the island of Kos, has already etched her name in the Guinness World Record for leading the largest-ever exercise class. Now, she has also made the Australian Financial Review‘s list of the country’s richest individuals under the age of 40.

Itsines, aged 27, was the wealthiest female on the list, ranking in fifth place, just ahead of her fiancé Tobias Pearce, who came in at sixth place. Together, their joint net worth is estimated at $486 million.

Where does her self-made fortune come from? In 2014, she created an e-book, the Bikini Body Guide. The e-book was so popular that the young fitness enthusiast has since reaped millions in profit from her ‘Sweat’ fitness app, which is based on the Bikini Body Guide.

According to the Australian Financial Review, ‘Sweat’ “became Apple’s biggest-grossing health app and has been downloaded by 30 million people since its launch three years ago. It’s available in 155 countries and seven languages and the almost instant global success has made Itsines and Pearce the richest self-made 20-somethings in the country with an estimated wealth of $486 million. And they’re nowhere near done yet.”
