Chef George Calombaris’ flagship establishment offers an eclectic culinary experience and is a one-of-a-kind fusion of traditional Greek food with modern times. With only 10 booths, the atmosphere is exclusive and you receive great service, as well as wine recommendations with your meals!
Ipsos is a newer restaurant located in Lorne and is a fun and relaxed take on Greek food – preserving Greek tradition, with an Aussie twist! Here you will discover a more youthful image of Greek food, but don’t worry, you will still have an extensive wine collection to choose from, including some Greek wines.
Captain Moonlight is another favorite eatery making the 2019 list and is located in Lorne. This seafood paradise has a motto that it stays true to: “high tides + good vibes”, so really, eating here, you can’t go wrong! This restaurant also has great views of the Anglesea surfing coast, so you can get enjoy your seafood while looking at the moonlit shores.
The Apollo is dubbed the “neo-Greek taverna” and it doesn’t disappoint its guests. This is more than your average taverna. Here, you will also find a bar and a “happening” atmosphere while you enjoy Greek food made with the freshest ingredients!
Ble Restaurant is the baby of the eateries that made the 2019 list, however the chef has 15+ years experience cooking, so you are in good hands.
This new restaurant offers beautiful dishes — after all, you eat first with your eyes, then your stomach! Ble Greek Kouzina creates cuisine that is “spitiko” (homemade) and the menu is designed for sharing, just like any traditional home-cooked Greek meal! This restaurant is also pet friendly, not to mention has vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options!
