Greek Orthodox Community to Open Cultural Center in Box Hill, Victoria

speak-greek-in-marchThe Greek Orthodox Community in Box Hill will hold an inauguration ceremony for its newest accomplishment, the Community cultural center. Box Hill is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, east of Melbourne’s Central Business District.

According to the Greek Diaspora newspaper Neos Kosmos the building hosts a multi-purpose hall, an office, kitchenette, child care center and an outdoor playground. Furthermore, on the first floor of the two-floor building there are specially constructed areas that will allow the community to hold meetings and social events.

The center has been designed to cover the needs of the community for the next decade, while it was designed to be mainly used as a space for the Greek language school. The computers and equipment that have been installed in the classrooms will allow the school to make use of modern technology while teaching.

Members of the community and locals are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony for the building, located close to the parish.
