Hundreds Come Out for the Closing Night of the Greek Film Festival

delphi-bank-greek-fim-festivalThe Delphi Bank 22nd Greek Film Festival ended on a high with the sold out screening of Zorba the Greek. More than 350 people attended the Closing Night event at Palace Cinemas Norton Street and helped celebrate the end of the Festival with this classic and much-loved film.

Attendees attended a pre-film cocktail party before filling the cinemas for the main event. Zorba the Greek was very-well received by audiences who laughed, cried and embraced a Greek film with great importance in cinematic history.

This year’s Greek Film Festival enjoyed incredible success and was very well-attended, offering a wide variety of genres, from romantic comedies to hard-hitting documentaries and an Aliki Vougiouklaki retrospective, screening five of the actress’ most popular films.

The Opening Night of the Festival this year, was one of the most successful in its history with over 750 Greek film lovers filling 5 sold-out cinemas for the world premiere of hit Australian play-turned motion picture, Alex and Eve.

The Delphi Bank Greek Film Festival will return next year for its 23rd year and is an initiative of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW.
