Greek Sells 25 Million Dollar Luxury Mansion

mansionGreek Australian businessman Socrates Vasiliades sold his luxurious home in the Toorak suburb of Melbourne for 25 million dollars.

Sources within the Australian real estate market report that  the latest sale beats the previous record of 24 million dollars paid for a residence in the same area by Haris Stamoulis, a businessman of Greek descent. However, Stamoulis was not satisfied with the property which he tore down to construct a new mansion estimated at 30 million dollars.

The mansion sold by Vasiliades has 22 rooms  and a total area of 2,100 square meters. The luxurious house includes gardens, a lift, a cinema and a gym.

According to the Australian press, the house remained uninhabited for three years as no buyer was willing to pay the amount of 30 million dollars requested by Vasiliades. Same sources report that Vasiliades and his family were living in the mansion before moving to London.

Vasiliades is an executive in the mining business. A recent article in “Mining Weekly,” referred to him as CEO of Core Mining, a company seeking to become one of the leading producers of iron ore in the Republic of Congo, exploiting the recently explored rich Avima deposit close to the country’s borders with Gabon and Cameroon.
