Michalis Hatzigiannis To Perform in Melbourne

Michalis HatzigiannisGreek-Cypriot pop singer Michalis Hatzigiannis will perform in the 2014 Melbourne Festival that has been scheduled to take place October 10 to 26.

Michalis Hatzigiannis was born in Nicosia where he received an education in piano, guitar and music theory. He graduated from the Cyprus Music Academy and started working hard to build his career.

When he was 17 years old he participated in the Eurovision Contest, and by the time he turned 20, he already had three platinum records in Cyprus. After establishing a very successful career in Greece, he was called to sing in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Over the years, Hatzigiannis has become one of the most well-known Greek performers. He has received numerous awards and has collaborated with many Greek and international artists.

Michalis Hatzigiannis will perform in Melbourne on Saturday, October 18, accompanied by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. His own personal style which incorporates pop with traditional Greek music will fill the halls of Sidney Miller Music Bowl.

The special event has been organized by Melbourne Festival in collaboration with the Greek Center for Contemporary Culture, promising a night filled with Greek music and dance.
