Greek-Australian ‘Fronditha’ Aged Care Center Expands

Melbourne_oldGreek-Australian aged care center “Fronditha” will invest 35 million Australian dollars in expanding its facilities, as announced by its president Sakis Zafeiropoulos at the Melbourne center’s annual gala on May 10.

More than 450 Greek-Australians attended the event, and raised some 140,000 Australian dollars, which has been providing valuable services and assistance to the elderly Greek-Australians for decades.

The gala was also attended by representatives of many Greek-Australians bodies such as the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, Pronia Hostel, AHEPA and the League of Greeks from Egypt and the Middle East (EEAMA).

Nowadays, “Fronditha” comprises of eight aged care centers in Melbourne (Clayton, Templestowe, Thornbury and St. Albans) and Newcastle. It has a total of 400 beds for aged people in need, and employs some 500 people and has an annual budget of more than 30 million Australian dollars.
