4-Year-Old Greek Boy Returns Home After Treatment

loukasFour-year old Loukas Strouzas returned to Melbourne with his parents after his stay in Texas where he completed radiotherapy treatment.

Greeks from all over the world contributed financially, more than  $250,000, for a special radiotherapy which was necessary for the treatment of medulloblastoma in the boy’s head. His mother, with a letter published in the newspaper Neos Kosmos, thanked all the people who helped her son.

“I want to thank all of you who made a donation and supported our family in any way, and also those who just prayed for our child,” she wrote.

Loukas is a Greek child from Melbourne who suffers from medulloblastoma, a very rare form of brain cancer that affects one in 200,000 children.

When the tumor was detected the little boy was subjected to chemotherapy but the tumor didn’t disappear. The doctors said that it had shrunk, but that special radiotherapy was necessary for his treatment.

Now, the little boy is back home. His parents are hoping that their child will overcome his illness.
