The new president of the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) Joseph Caputo, expressed his displeasure for the abolition of the Ministry of Multicultural Affairs of the Tony Abbott government.
Mr. Caputo said “We will ask the government to inform us about the reasons which led to this decision,” immediately after his election to the post of president in the recent Federation Conference.
Mr. Caputo is well-known to the Diaspora and has been dealing with migration issues for decades. It should be noted that vice president of Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils are two Greek women, Evgenia Grammatikakis from Melbourne and Dina Karakatsanis from South Australia.
