The Greek-Australian actor, Paul Capsis , who is considered as one of the leaders in the field of Australian entertainment, was honored for his excellent offer in the theater, dance and music.

Capsis was awarded with the first prize of ACON Organization due to his fights against discrimination and especially discrimination against homosexuals.

The Greek-Australian actor has a remarkably diverse career. He is best known as a performer of the theater, concert and cabaret and Australia’s critics have named him King of Cabaret. He is a five-time Helpmann Award winner thanks to his unique talent.

He is considered as one of the most important figures in Australia’s LGBTI community as, over the years, he has exploited his talent to fight for LGBTI rights and because he has inspired many people not only in Australia but all over the world as well.

ACON is New South Wales’ leading health promotion organization specializing in HIV and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) health. Incorporated in 1985 as the AIDS Council of NSW, ACON has been widely recognized as an innovative, successful organization which has adapted to changes in the HIV epidemic and responded early to emerging health issues among communities, according to the organization’s official website.
