Alexander the Great Exhibition Ends April 28

megas-alexandros-australia660The exhibition, Alexander the Great 2,000 Years of Treasures, which is hosted at the Australian Museum in Sydney, and has noted a record number of visitors ends on April 28.

The people responsible for the exhibit decided to innovate last week by giving the opportunity to those whose name begins with Alex (Alexandra, Alexander) or originate from a city called Alexandria (there are 20 such cities, to see the exhibition with a symbolic ticket price, from April 22 until April 26.

The exhibits from the State Hermitage Museum of St Petersburg, Russia, include 400 objects about the myth and the life of the Grand Commander.

The exhibition begins with the myth of Alexander the Great and moves on to the historical background and his campaign to the East, and ends with the myths and legends created and spread about him over the centuries.

The exhibition is considered as one of the “most imposing and exciting exhibitions hosted by this institution,” according to officials.
