Melbourne-born artists Melpomeni and Koraly will come together on April 22 for an evening of collaboration which will see Koraly’s spoken word woven into Melpomeniā€™s chilling music taking the audience on a journey of love, loss and freedom.

Melpomeni will perform songs from her first album, 8 Tragedies, 2 Love Songs and a Breakdown and also from her forthcoming album, which she is currently writing and producing herself. Her debut album is a collection of songs exploring the female psyche, disillusionment and isolation from which one of the tracks, Dreaming, has been synched to a psychological thriller, Emerging Past, which won Best Horror Film at the New York City International Film Festival.

Melbourne born singer/songwriter Melpomeni was a long-standing member of the number one selling UK classical chart act, Mediaeval Baebes. She has toured extensively in the UK as well as Europe, the USA, Africa and the Middle East. After studying 20th century music composition at La Trobe University, she soon left to go traveling and chase history. After a brief period of living in Greece, she currently lives between Melbourne and London.

Koraly Dimitriadis is a poet, writer and performer born in Australia to Cypriot migrants. She grew up in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. She is the author of the controversial Love and F**k Poems and this year she received a $10,000 Australia Council grant to travel to Cyprus to translate her poems and to create film clips of her poetry.

She is a 3CR radio presenter and the resident poet at Brunswick Street Bookstore throughā€ØAustralian Poetryā€™s cafĆ© poets program. Koraly is near completing her first novel, Misplaced.
