Stamoulis’ St. Kilda Road Penthouse On Sale

penthouse-3-620x414Harry Stamoulis, scion of the Gold Medal soft-drink Empire and property developer in Melbourne, has put his penthouse at St. Kilda Road on the market, at more than $15 million.

The full-floor penthouse on level 36 of the Royal Domain Tower has four bedrooms, a formal entertaining area, a family room, two bars, a butler’s pantry, six parking spaces, a fireplace and all stone floors. It boasts panoramic views of the city and the waterfront as it has two outdoor terraces overlooking Albert Park Lake and the Shrine of Remembrance, according to the newspaper The Age.

“St Kilda Road is probably the best location for an apartment in Melbourne. The apartment has 360 degree views and you can watch the air show, Grand Prix, Moomba Parade and hot air balloons rising over the city. At night, the view of the city lights is amazing”, said Stamoulis’ wife Valenti. The Royal Domain Tower also offers a 24-hour concierge service, a library, gym, pool, business center and golf driving range.

The penthousewas bought as a shell for $5.54 million in 2006 and Harry and Valenti Stamoulis are believed to have spent millions of dollars customizing it into one of the largest and most luxurious apartments in the city, as The Age writes.

The property will be promoted locally and internationally, mainly to prospective buyers in Hong Kong, Singapore and London, according to Savills agent, Martin Schiller.

The couple plans to move to their $54 million St. Georges Road Toorak mansion, the construction of which will be completed next year. It is modeled on the Vanderbilt family’s historic Marble House estate in the US and is tipped to be one of the country’s most expensive private residences. After spending $24 million to acquire the land, the couple will outlay about $30 million on the construction and fit out of the 3,200 square meter home, which will include five bedrooms, a ballroom, theater, pool and tennis court.

The Stamoulis family fortune is estimated at $459 million.
