Aesop Sold to Brazil‘s Natura Cosméticos

AesopDionysis Pafitis, a Greek-Australian businessman from Melbourne, sold 65% of his Aesop cosmetics company shares to the Brazilian company Natura Cosmeticos for 68 million dollars. Pafitis still holds 25% of the company’s shares, while the other shareholders kept 10% total.

The only son of a Greek family in Melbourne, his parents wanted him to be a doctor or a lawyer. His father had a barber’s shop, where Pafitis worked for a short time, but later on his plans changed.

When he was 25 years old, he started producing and selling Aesop products. He was occupied with herbal ingredients destined to be used on the face and hair. For over 20 years he worked with the best chemists, microbiologists and world scientists on the manufacturing of cosmetic products.

The preparation of his products is based on science and herbal science as well as on the ways people make use of natural products.
