The Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) held its 2012 Gala Ball and Excellence Award dinner in Melbourne to honor five Greek-Australians for their endeavors.
More than 400 business people attended the ceremony which took place in the glamorous Mural Hall. The Professional Excellence award was presented to Viki Laskari, photo department manager in Fairfax.
The Business Excellence award was presented to Peter Merkoulias, who was born in Laconia and moved in Australia at an early age.
The Young Achievement award was presented to Stefanos Kassomenos, a well-known pianist who has performed many concerts in Australia and around the world and has received many awards.
The Philanthropy/Community Support award was presented by Member of Parliament Graham Watty to Sakis Zafiropoulos, President of Frontida.
The Life Achievement Award was presented to George Paxinos, honoring his international contribution to neurosurgery, by brand and communication consultant Peter Economides.
