Australian Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Nicholas Kotsiras has encouraged multicultural communities to contribute to a plan to create harmony between the many co-existing nationalities in the state, the newspaper Neos Kosmos reported.
The Victorian government’s Vision for Citizenship in a Multicultural Victoria outlines the role of citizenship in supporting and celebrating Victoria’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity and the ministry posted a document online inviting Victorians of all backgrounds to submit ideas that will assist in the development of initiatives of multicultural affairs and citizenship policy.
For more information and to submit your ideas, go to www.multicultural.vic.giv.au and click on ‘Vision for Citizenship in a Multicultural Victoria’. Submissions will be accepted in languages other than English and will be accepted until Oct. 26. The government is looking for ideas to help foster better relations between peoples in a diversified society.
