According to President of the Pancretan Society of Melbourne, Mr Antonis Tsourdalakis’ statements to Rethymno Mayor Giorgis Marinakis, Greek-Australians really love and value Rethymno of Crete.
Cretan-born Mr Tsourdalakis was found on his island over the past few days and expressed his wish to be informed of the problems that the area is facing amid the ongoing financial crisis.
He also underlined the good will and enormous sensitivity of the Greek-Australian community when it comes to supporting and helping the Greek people.
Both the Mayor and the President of the Pancretan Society promised to seek solutions and find a common ‘road’ so that the help that the Greeks of the Diaspora send arrives faster at homes of Greeks in need.
