Greek-Australians Raise Money For GOTO Foundation

Three Greek-Australian men from the GoTo Foundation presented the Flinders University Autism Early Intervention Program (EIRP) with a $50,000 check on Monday night. Accepting the check was the Vice Chancellor of Flinders University, Prof. Michael Barber and head of the EIRP, Associate Prof. Robyn Young.

The GoTo Foundation – established by long-time friends George Diakomichalis, Nick Apostolou, Lewis Pounentis – is a non-profit organization providing support to the community for their health, wellbeing and education.

The three men have so far raised around $75,000 for the program but they have a target of $100,000. People are warmly accepting their calls, and it seems that they will soon meet their goals. “We hope that this contribution to the EIRP will help many families and we will continue to support this program until we have reached our goal of raising $100,000,” the team says.

“It was very rewarding because we’ve given something back to the community but it’s ultimately going direct to help autistic children and it makes a direct difference,” Diakomichalis told newspaper Neos Kosmos.

“Waiting lists have disappeared due to this, so something can get done straight away which is absolutely brilliant and makes the time and effort that goes into this…that is demanding, very rewarding. Not only for us but everybody who’s helped us along the way,” he concludes.
