30th Festival of Sydney Presents Film ‘Our Generation’ on May 6

The 30th Greek Festival of Sydney presents the film “Our Generation” on Sunday, May 6.

Carrying one’s culture with pride is the foundation of belonging and of identity. But while immigrant cultures are celebrated, Australia’s First Peoples are facing cultural genocide. In this groundbreaking film, Aboriginal people in remote Australia speak about their ongoing fight to maintain their culture, languages, and way of life. Decades of government oppression are having devastating effects, with Aboriginal health now the lowest of any indigenous group in the world.

A discussion will follow with academic, and second-generation Greek, Thalia Anthony, and former ABC journalist and “60 Minutes” reporter Jeff McMullen. For more information, please click on the following link here.

Donations are welcome to meet costs of getting the film on television. Donations can be made upon entry or by visiting this page.
