The spokesman for Premier, Julia Gillard, characterized a news report by Kanal 5 TV station from Skopje, on a forthcoming meeting of the Australian Prime Minister with Slav – Macedonians in Australia and changing Australia’s policy on the “Macedonian” issue, as inaccurate.
Through a news report titled “Australia is preparing the recognition of the constitutional name as a gift on the twenty years of independence”, TV station Kanal 5, mentioned that “Slav – Macedonians living in Australia are planning to have meetings with Australian MPs and the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the ties of Australia – Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, with a view to recognize FYROM under its constitutional name”.
“These reports are inaccurate”, stated Julia Gillard’s spokesman to Neos Kosmos.
