Financial Support for Greek Schools in Victoria

Minister of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship N. Kotsiras announced that $140,000 are going to be given to 85 community language schools across Victoria. According to the minister, foreign languages are important for developing an international perspective. Multicultural speakers enhance the reputation of Victoria as a multicultural capital.

This money is going to be used for supporting and improving the quality of teaching and the development of staff. The grants will also go towards materials resources and operational costs.

Some of the schools that received the money are: AHEPA Victoria, Greek Orthodox Community of Frankson Inc, of Oakleigh, of Okleigh District, of Parish of St Athanasios, Omiros College and two schools from the Greek Orthodox community of Melbourne, Victoria.
