Poetry Event with Dimitris Tsaloumas, Melbourne

An English-speaking audience had the rare opportunity to hear Dimitris Tsaloumas, a multi-award winning Greek poet, present his poetry on Sunday the 10th of April,  at the Greek Orthodox Community Building of Melbourne and Victoria.  It was organised by the Greek Australian Cultural League and ran as part of the Antipodes Festival.

The 89- year- old poet read and analysed his poems, and answered questions, creating a lively discussion.

Mr. Dimitris Tsaloumas, born in Leros, is a renowned poet and among the greatest poets in Australia. In 1983, his billingual work “The Observatory” won the leading literary prize in Australia. Tsaloumas is a man who can fluently express his thoughts and feelings both in Greek and English.
