Greek Education Offices in Sydney & Adelaide Merge with Melbourne

Within the framework of changes to be implemented by the Ministry of Education of Greece, the Education Offices initially hosted at the Consulate General buildings in Sydney and Adelaide have merged with the Melbourne office as a single agency, based in Melbourne.  Dr. Harris Ladopoulos will be the head of the agency.
As mentioned in his statements Ladopoulos stated that currently around 75 detached teachers are serving in Australia from Greece.  Next year they will be reduced by 10.  He claimed: “not as a result of their removal, but because they personally requested this”.
Dr. Ladopoulos also said that the dispatch of books by the Greek Publishing Organization of Educational Books from Greece will be partly interrupted.  Tthe University of Crete will provide them free in electronic form.
The Educational Counselor especially highlighted the importance of a different approach in education through culture and made reference to the participation of students in the Greek Film Festival with their own creations and regarding the participation of Australians who fought in two World Wars in Greece.
He also stated that a simplified and specially designed edition of  Greek grammar rules are available online at the website of the Melbourne Education Office.
