A Boost Towards Greek Attainment in Australia!

The decision of Stelios Koukouvitakis’ family to offer a scholarship funds totaling 50, 000 AUD for students of the Greek Community’s bilingual school of Melbourne and Victoria, Alphington Grammar is a boost towards attainment in Greek in Australia.
Previously donations have been made from the N. Andrianakos family with 300.000 AUD and the Argyropoulos family with 50.000 AUD.   According to the President of the Community Vassilis Papastergiadis another major donation will be announced shortly.
The donations towards Alphington Grammar School are being made as the expansion works of the school are being made with new classrooms, multipurpose hall etc.   The total cost is 6.5 million Australian Dollars and mainly comes from the Federal Government.
“We are investing in attainment in Greek. We are talking of a major project, which will make the Greek community proud”, noted Mr. Papastergiadis and expressed his pleasure on the fact that more and more Greek families in Australia understand its value and contribute towards it.
