Musical Concert to Celebrate Alexander the Great at the Melbourne Recital Centre

alexander the greatA concert to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies (AIMS) will be taking place on Wednesday, October 26 at the Melbourne Recital Centre in collaboration with the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) and the Pan-Macedonian Association.

The musical event titled Alexander the Great: Pioneering Multiculturalism will showcase pieces celebrating Alexander the Great‘s life and achievement and Hellenic ideals and was written specifically for this concert by Greek-Australian Melbourne composer, Christos Ioannidis.

Guests who attend will be treated to the Camerata Orchestra conducted by Douglas Heywood OAM.

Also, a complimentary program that all guests will receive as a keep sake of this cultural concert will detail lyrics, songs and excerpts of poetry that is to be recited in both English and Greek.
