Procal Awarded Highest Scoring Greek-Style Yogurt in Australia

procal yogurtAll around the world Greek-style yogurt is trending like never before. Known for its velvety texture, creamy taste and nutritional value, it’s no wonder that last week Procal’s Authentic Greek Yoghurt was awarded the Highest Scoring Greek-Style Yoghurt in Australia.

This is not the first recognition that Procal has received over the past years. In 2015 it was given the golden stamp of excellence by the Royal Melbourne Fine Foods Award for its Greek-style yogurt, while the same year Procal’s 2wirl Yoghurt was awarded gold by the Dairy Industry Association Australia.

On their website they describe their Authentic Greek Yoghurt as “a smooth, thick and delicious yogurt which can be used for a variety of serving and cooking applications. Free of added sugar and preservatives.”

The yogurt’s recipe has been passed down through generations and prides itself on its authenticity.

Originally started in Victoria in 2003, Procal is a family owned milk and dairy manufacturer. The company first found competition with the main dairy companies in the state of Victoria such as National Foods and Parmalat. Since then it has been creating a name for itself by delivering high quality products and in 2006 made the move to Dairy Farmers’ territory in Sydney.

They have made a name for themselves in yogurt as well as being pioneers for minimizing environmental impact as Procal has orchestrated a “back to base” recycling operation where wholesalers are able to return their used bottles and recycle the products. On their Twitter account, Procal says that it is able to recycle almost 40 percent of the bottles it sells.
