The National Greek football team will face the Australian team in two friendly matches on June 2016 in Sidney. Both matches will take place at the ANZ Stadium, one on June 4 and the other on June 7.

The last match between the two teams took place in May 2006 in Melbourne, with the “Socceroos” winning 1-0 in front of 95,000 spectators.

“We’re very pleased to face Australia, an all-time great time, considering that it always makes it to the World Cup,” said Michael Skibbe, federal coach.

On the other hand, the federal coach of the National Australian football team — who is of Greek origin — Αngelos “Ange” Postecoglou, said that “We are excited that we will host Greece’s National team. There is no doubt that the match is going to be special for both the Australian and the Greek fans.”
