According to Greek-Australian Spiros Alysandratos, owner and general manager of the ticket wholesaler “Consolidated World Travel”, there is an increase in the tourist flow from Australia to Greece during the last two years.
Alysandratos reported that there was an increase of 10% in the number of Australian tourists to Greece last year, while the upward trend is also continuing this year.
Last year, Greece welcomed 142,642 tourists from Oceania, of whom 129,112 came from Australia. Meanwhile, the Australians are considered the most generous tourists as they spend more days in Greece and a total of 1,420 euros, followed by the Canadians (1,207 euros), the Americans (1,098 euros) and the Russians (1,005 euros).
Alysandratos, along with his parents and siblings, left his homeland Kefalonia without any money. Currently, “Consolidated World Travel” is among the top hundred travel companies in the planet, ranked 46th.
Data shows that Consolidated World Travel is the most profitable company in its field while it is one of the leading Australian companies.
