Australian Huw Kingston, praises Greek tourism to the Australian media and does so very effectively as he describes his experiences traveling in Greece.
Kingston works as a travel journalist and owns a company that organizes adventure tours. His passion for exploration and adventure drove him to set off on a journey circumnavigating the Mediterranean Sea in 12 months, and raising funds for the children affected by war in Syria.
The beauty of Greece, its beaches and the hospitality of the locals impressed the journalist while he was in the country. “The people I meet, although I don’t know them personally, seem very excited to see me and many of them invite me to their homes,” he says.
Huw set off from Gallipoli in Turkey on April 26 and he intends to travel through 20 Mediterranean countries by trekking, skiing, riding and kayaking. It is a 15,000km route and he expects to manage it in one year.
During his stay in Greece he also participated in the classic marathon of Athens and also plans to cross the Corinth Canal in his canoe in one day.
