Greek Food Truck in Melbourne’s Streets

Greek food truckDuring the last years a new trend in the food industry has taken over the streets of Melbourne. Australian citizens are thrilled with the food trucks that provide a wide variety of tastes from around the world.

Among the dozens food trucks, there is also a Greek one which first made its appearance in January. The menu includes traditional Greet street food, including lamb, chicken or pork souvlaki and oregano and feta chips. The Greek truck can be found most days around Darebin and Moreland or at Yarraville Park.

George Karanikos, the owner of the Greek van says that he is impressed by the support of his colleagues. “All the food vans work well together. Everyone has been very helpful,” he states. “The feeling is if a few vans are together it creates a community, so people can come down eat dinner and enjoy.” he adds. Dennis Grace, owner of Afrofeast, the first African food truck, feels the same way.

The Beatbox Kitchen truck, founded in 2009, was among the first food trucks. Many claim that it serves the best burgers.

Food lovers can choose between many exotic flavors. Taco Van and Dos Diablos provide Mexican street food such as hot tacos while Afrofeast’s menu includes South African bunny chow and the Ugandan rolex.
