Greek-Australian, New Head of General Motors Holden

gerry dorizas-general motors holdenThe new general director of the automotive industry General Motors Holden which is based in Australia and New Zealand, Gerry Dorizas was born and raised in Athens, where he also studied.

General Motors Holden recently made a public announcement that in 2017, they would be closing all automotive production units in Adelaide and Melbourne, thus leaving Australia.

Gerry Dorizas, the new general director stated that this would be a great challenge for the company, but is confident that he will succeed in coming through the transition period.

Moreover, Dorizas who after his studies in Athens, went abroad to attend Roosevelt University in the U.S., has two decades of experience in the automotive industry in Europe and Asia.

Before coming to Australia to work as the general director of General Motors Holden, Dorizas used to work for Fiat, Toyota, Hyundai and Volkswagen and also spent some time working in India. Prior to working in the automotive industry, he also worked for a computer company named Nixdorf, which is based in Athens.
