‘Neos Kosmos’ Announces Newspaper of the Year

neos_kosmosThe Greek community newspaper, Neos Kosmos, was awarded best Greek newspaper of the year in New South Wales, Australia’s largest state.

Neos Kosmos Weekend Edition won the “Best Print Publication of the Year – Periodicals” prize thanks to its content and appearance. These prizes awarded to multilingual media, known as “The Premier’s Multicultural Media Awards,” are initiated and supported by the New South Wales Government.

The ceremony which took place in Doltone House in Sydney, was attended by Barry O’Farrell, MP Premier of New South Wales and Victor Dominello MP Minister of Citizenship and Communities.

Neos Kosmos was founded in 1957, representing a strong link between Greek immigrants and the motherland. During the colonels’ seven-year dictatorship, Neos Kosmos was supporting the anti-dictatorial struggle of the Greek community in Australia. Neos Kosmos is Australia’s largest circulation Greek community newspaper.
