The dead bodies of a Greek couple with origins from Trikala, a city in central Greece, were found inside their home in Revesby, south-west of Sydney. According to the police, the victims were 69-year-old  Nikos Panagiotakou and his wife 63-year-old Elisavet Panagiotakou. One of their three daughters found them in their house, located on Queen Street, where they have been living for the last 30 years.

The Police stated that the bodies were found in two different rooms and one of the two seemed to have several wounds. Sources say that the police are not currently looking for suspects, and detectives are investigating whether this was in fact a murder suicide. The inspector of Bankstown, Scott McAlpine, mentioned that both bodies were covered by the time the Police arrived. “They have been living here for a very long time and there is no record of troubles,” he continued.

Neighbors were shocked by the news and stated that they saw Mr. Panagiotakos walking on the street last Monday. “He was gentle. There was no problem with them,” added a friend and neighbor, Michael Nakhie. The couple had many grandchildren and Mr. Panagiotakos would take them out for a walk. “She was always with her grandchildren,” said a neighbor, Demi Camelin, about Elisavet Panagiotakou. “She was a very nice grandmother,” she added.
