Greek Family Brings Mezedes to Australians

galley-3The Guardian newspaper included Little Greek Taverna in the list with the 10 best restaurants and coffee houses in Brisbane.

According to the newspaper, “Little Greek Taverna is a popular and “noisy” place, and for these reasons you may be charmed.” This is the business owned by the Parmaklis family from Florina, who are very proud of their origin.

Besides, as the family cites on their website, “Greece may be famous for its islands, but in Macedonia we have green mountains, snow in the winter and spicy cuisine to be warmed up.” In fact, the family thought of introducing some of these dishes to Australians.

The Guardian’s author praises aunt Ellis’ cheese pies, the long list of Greek mezedes, the fried zucchini and the seafood, and highlights the low cost of the dishes, which was the main subject of the article.
