The new film, Dream of a Shadow, which is an Australian production, tells the story of the newcomer Greek immigrants to Australia who left Greece after the economic crisis struck their country. It has been reported that a TV series will be based on the film. The shootings, parts of which took place in Athens, will be completed next month in Melbourne.
Spiros Heliotis, who immigrated to Melbourne a year and a half ago, is in the leading role along with Nikitas Ballas from Melbourne.
The two friends wrote the script together inspired by the experiences of the Greek newcomers to Australia.
Marina Leontari directed the part of the film that was shot in Greece. Leontari is also co-producer of the film. Ioanna Pilihou, Sunny Hatziargiri, Yannis Aivazis, Vasilis Paleologos, Dinos Karidis, Costas Arzoglu and the well-known presenter/model Maria-Louisa Vourou in her debut as an actress will participate in the Greek cast. Alexandros Laskaridis, Alexis Katerinis and Dimitris Golas are also in the Greek cast.
