Another Charge Dropped Against Peirce Murderer

621364-faruk-ormanAn underworld assassin, Faruk Orman, who was accused of murdering the Australian criminal from Melbourne, Victor Peirce, has had another murder charge against him dropped. On the eve of his trial for the convicted killer Paul Kallipolitis, also known as PK, the prosecution dropped the murder charge when it deemed a witness unreliable, ABC News reports.

Orman was also charged with the 2002 shooting death of gangland killing of PK. More than a decade ago, Kallipolitis was shot at his Sunshine home while sitting on his bed. The 20-year-old then Orman, was alleged to have been the driver of the getaway car for hit man Andrew Veniamin.

Until today, Orman could not be named as a result of a court suppression order, which was lifted on April 18. Peirce was shot dead by Andrew Veniamin while he sat in his car in Port Melbourne in May 2002.

According to ABC, Orman was jailed in 2009 for the Pierce murder and is serving a minimum 14-year term. In sentencing, Justice Mark Weinberg accepted the counsel’s view that Orman was immature and had a low self-esteem. In his 2009 sentencing remarks, Justice Weinberg stated among others that, “This was a brazen and calculated crime.”

Orman is also a known close associate of Mick Gatto, who shot dead Veniamin in 2004. Charges against Gatto also dropped, on the grounds that the shooting was in self defense, which means he has avoided being called as a witness.
