The recent violent attacks both on journalists and the New Democracy offices in Athens, led the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs to reconsider its travel recommendation for Greece.
The revised recommendation has no major changes, but it has been highlighted that: “violence can occur without warning in Greece, which includes bomb placement in public and private buildings.”
It also stressed that: “strikes in Greece are becoming more and more frequent. Many public transport strikes have been marked and this could inevitably affect your travel plans in Greece.”
