Melbourne To Get Greek Cultural Center

A Greek Cultural Centre is going to be built in Melbourne, a building that will include activity rooms for the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria (GOCMV), which aims at serving the cultural needs of Diaspora Greeks and promoting the Greek cultural heritage. The city has a significant Greek presence since 1950.

The building will also house spaces for various businesses to raise funds to pay for its construction and operation. There will be a Greek restaurant with a view to Melbourne’s downtown.

The Cultural Centre will also be a place of education, music, entertainment, song and dance. It will offer the next generation a chance to create their new stories and cultural experience but at all times remembering and celebrating our migrant past.

Events scheduled there will also include a series of exhibitions, educational, mental, cultural, art and entertaining events with theater and film screenings in specially designed venues using equipment with modern facilities and multimedia platforms.
