Suspect Held in Argyropoulos Murder in Sydney

New South Wales police investigations have led to the arrest of a suspect that is allegedly involved in the targeted murder of Greek-Australian Nikolas Argyropoulos last March in Ballast Point Park in Sydney. TheĀ 24-year-old Argyropoulos, from Earlwood, in Sydney’s south, was found dead from a gun shot wound in the face, and his body was transported to Greece for the burial.

According to police, the primary suspect for shooting Argyropoulos dead was James Polkinghorne, who was stabbed to death by his girlfriend Jessica Silva lastĀ May. Now further evidence hasĀ  led to the arrest of Silva’s brother, Miguel, who is thought to have helped Polkinghorne escape police Silva is also in custody on charges of killing her boyfriend on Mother’s Day.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Rodney Hackett said that the exact details of Argyropoulos’ murder will remain unknown once Polkinghorne is dead. Miguel Silva will appear before theĀ Central Local Court next month.
