Australia’s Labor Party Reaches Out to Greece

The Labor party in Melbourne calls all members of the Greek community to express their opinion, complaints as well as key issues of importance within the community and organizations. Australia has changed significantly over the past two decades with a population now more diverse than ever, and has even more acknowledged the significant contribution made by the Greek community.

A forum has been organized by the Labor Party in order to meet State opposition leader Daniel Andrews, Jenny Mikakos MP and Ann Barker MP and raise many issues. Two forums have been organized in the south eastern suburbs and northern suburbs.

The south eastern forum will take place at the Oakleigh Greek Orthodox Community Multipurpose Hall – 25 Clapham Rd, Hughesdale on Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The northern suburbs’ forum will take place at the Pankoaki Brotherhood of Victoria – 1 Bastings St, Northcote, on Nov.8. To attend, contact Jenny Mikakos at (03) 9462 3966.

What we need at the moment is foreign politicians willing to come out publicly in support of Greece on FYROM issue.

All the bad press over Greek that last few years has allowed FYROM natioanlsit to go nuts with propaganda. If Austrilian government strongly supported us it would help embarrass both FYROM and its apologists. (who I would note,,, today pretend not to notice their sudden change into “ancient Macedonians” and irredentism to hide their shame for supporting them)

The Australian Labor Government does not care at all about Greeks and Greek Cypriots. Their priorities are Asia, and keeping up politically-correct appearances with the UN.
