A delegation of Greek Communist Party (KKE) is visiting Australia. The two leading members, George Marinos, a member of the Political Committee of the Greek Communist Party, and Kostas Papadakis, head of the foreign relations section of the Greek Communist Party arrived in Melbourne on Oct. 12.
After the visit in Melbourne, the delegation is going to visit Sydney,Newcastle and Adelaide, where they will attend political ceremonies, banquets of Greek immigrants organized by Communist party’s friends and labor organizations. The delegation is also going to meet with members of the Australian Communist Party as well with members of Greek Immigrant Foundation.
The visit comes at a time when the party’s popularity is dwindling rapidly in Greece as surveys show it barely has enough support to win seats in Parliament if a new election were to be held.
