New Antipodes Journal Issue Released

The new Antipodes literature journal issue number 58 was published by the Greek-Australian Cultural League of Melbourne marking its establishment in 1974, and has been circulating non-stop twice a year.

The presentation of the new issue took place on Oct. 7 at the renovated hall of the Pan-Arcadian Association of Melbourne, Kolokotronis, where the winners of the Literature Contest 2012 were announced and presented with their awards.

This issue was dedicated to acclaimed musician and composer Anthea Sidiropoulos and her contribution to the Greek culture blooming in Australia.

League President Cathy Alexopoulos, said that Antipodes is a characteristic milestone of the unwavering cultural presence of the Greek Community in Australia. “Each year we publish Antipodes  featuring an artist that is deeply involved with the promotion of the Greek cultural literature tradition in Australia. Our journal aims at recognizing these efforts and supporting their continuance in the future,” noted Alexopoulos.
