Greek-Australian Fundraiser for Needy Children

The Greek community of Australia launched various fundraisers aiming to support orphans in Greece under the initiative launched by the Hellenic Women’s Cultural Association ESTIA in Melbourne.

The money was raised through an AHEPA music concert, a dinner dance organized by the Pontian Community of Melbourne and Victoria in collaboration with the Greek Cultural Council ‘ESTIA’, and the Bank of Cyprus account “Assist the children in Greece”. The money will be donated to orphanages in Thessaloniki.

To date, 13,000 euros have been given to the Parents Association in Eastern Thessaloniki, 200 Sprider gift certificates to Melissa orphanage, and 200 Sprider gift certificates to Papafeion Institution worth 7,400 euros. The orphanages also received 3,600 euros worth of food from the Greek supermarket chain Vasilopoulos.

ESTIA will continue raising money for children in need, and encourage everyone to participate even with a small donation. You can donate directly to the Bank of Cyprus account “Assist the children in Greece” – BSB: 941304, account number: 202120002. You can reach ESTIA at: estia.greekwomen@gmail.com
