Demetres Zacharoudes
Demetres Zacharoudes is a 31-year-old accountant, living and working in Adelaide, who now faces fraud charges amounting to 1.3 million dollars. At least, that is what his employer, EPAC Salary Solutions, has accused him of.
More specifically, EPAC Salary Solutions accuses Zacharoudes of six illegal transfers amounting to $1.09 million from the company bank accounts to his or his parents’ accounts between the period of October through April 2011.
In addition, police investigators have allegedly found approximately $12,000 stolen cash in April.
Zacharoudes’ employer for three years claims he made 21 transfers in total to his parents’ account, totaling $220,000, and so is asking for compensation for those financial losses.
EPAC sued the Greek-Australian accountant in the Adelaide District Court for stolen claims of the $1.3 million. Demetres Zacharoudes is due to face the Adelaide Magistrates Court in July.
It remains to be seen what evidence both parties will present to support the truth of their allegations to the Australian Court.
