The Odyssey Festival is Coming!

The programme for the 2011 Odyssey Festival, Adelaide’s Hellenic Cultural Festival, has been announced. The festival, scheduled to take place between  the 5th and 22nd of October once is going to present a series of exciting and entertaining events, including the 18th Greek Film Festival and the Odyssey Festival Concert in-conjunction with the Elder Conservatorium.

Following the success of the previous five years, as a prominent arts and cultural festival for the Greek community at large, this year’s Odyssey will once again return you to the heart of the Greek community, Olympic Hall is used for GOCSA’s 80th year birthday celebrations.

With Odyssey’s 2011 theme of ‘reconnecting to our roots’, throughout the duration of the festival, Olympic Hall will be showcased as a multipurpose venue, playing host to exhibitions, lectures, cultural events, school holiday workshops, a cafeteria and so much more.

Expanding on the ‘The Agora, The Place To Meet’ concept first introduced at Odyssey’s launch in 2008 whereby Queen’s Theatre was transformed into a modern day Agora, (reminiscent of the Ancient Agora of Athens where philosophers, politicians, artists, poets and the general community met as one), in 2011 Olympic Hall will be that meeting place, for all of the community to enjoy.
