Greek Community Donated +$1.2 billion to Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney

More than $1.2 billion dollars has been offered  to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead by the Greek community of Sydney over the last 24 years. The Greek community contributes to the fight against diabetes.

The last donation of the community was offered at a special event in the amount of $21,000.

Kim Donaghue, Co-Head of The Institute of Endocrinology and Diabetes and a professor at Sydney University, noted that the Greek community sets the example for the rest of the communities and Australian society in general.

The amount of money gathered by the Greek community in the past was used for purchasing medical devices necessary for the Diabetes Department.

Auto-fluorescence, a medical device counting the skin damage caused by diabetes, will be bought with the latest donation.
