Cypriot Protests Occur Outside Turkish Consulate, Melbourne

Εvents for the 27th anniversary of the invasion of “Attila” in Cyprus began last Wednesday. At noon, expatriates protested outside the Turkish Consulate in Melbourne demanding to end the occupation and partition of the island and fighting against Turkish intransigence, which hinders a just and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem.

Then, the standard “meal of austerity” was given in the building of the Cypriot Community in memory of the suffering that the Greek Cypriots have gone through after the invasion. Expressions of support to the struggling people of Cyprus will be completed tomorrow with a protest march in the centre of Melbourne.

Like every year, the protest march will start from Lonsdale Street and end outside the State Parliament.
