Alexandros Katharios, head of the Department for Enlargement of Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) is going to retire next summer in the middle of August.
After 34 years of hard work he has decided to take some time to relax. He was born 70 years ago and went to Australia in 1968. He has been working at the radio station since 1977, as Coordinator and Director of the Greek programs of radio SBS.
Katharios attended intensive courses at the Australian Radio School and was certificated after only one year.
He has had a distinguished career all these years and managed to direct programs regarding the information and the entertainment of the Greek Community in Sydney and Melbourne, quite successfully.
For his participation in the electronic media communication and in journalism, and for his professional character he has been honored with recognition from different organizations in Australia and abroad.
